
Ms. Skyler is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at American Express. In this role, she oversees global public affairs and media relations, social media, colleague communications and corporate sustainability. Under her leadership, her organization’s mission is to operate as a best-in-class strategic function that strengthens and safeguards the American Express brand while supporting colleagues, customers, and communities. Ms. Skyler is Chair of the American Express Foundation and Executive Corporate Sponsor of NextGen, a group that connects colleagues across generations. She is a member of the American Express Executive Committee and serves as an executive officer of the company.
Before joining American Express, Ms. Skyler served as Chief Communications Officer at WeWork, where she built the multi-disciplinary department from the ground up. Prior to that, she worked at Facebook, where she launched the company’s consumer communications and data science groups and led press strategies around key products and partnerships. Ms. Skyler began her career in newsrooms, first at CNN, where she advanced from executive assistant to White House producer. She later worked at MSNBC and the CBS Evening News as part of an Emmy-nominated team.
Ms. Skyler has been named to PRWeek’s Power List of top communicators and PRovoke Media’s Influence 100 list. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, with a major in Communications Studies and a concentration in Japanese, and she currently serves as a Trustee of the Spence School in New York City.
