Platinum Card Members can now get access to more than $1,500 in annual value
New York October 7, 2021: Today, American Express launched two new retail and wellness benefits on its U.S. Consumer Platinum Card to provide Card Members more value on their everyday and lifestyle purchases. Beginning on October 7, U.S. Consumer Platinum Card Members who use their Cards can receive a statement credit for the full cost of a Walmart+ monthly membership ($12.95/month, plus applicable taxes) and a $300 statement credit on purchases of the SoulCycle at-home bike1 through Equinox+ (Up to 15 times in one calendar year).
“Convenience and flexibility are more important than ever for our Card Members,” said Howard Grosfield, Executive Vice President & General Manager, U.S. Consumer & Global Premium Services. “With Walmart+, Platinum Card® Members can get what they need, delivered to their door, quickly and seamlessly. The SoulCycle at-home bike gives them access to another fitness program that fits their lifestyle."
Convenience of E-Commerce
Walmart is already a top merchant for Platinum Card® Members and is one of the largest retailers in the world. According to the Amex Trendex*, 3 in 4 adults report they’ve spent more on online shopping in the past year compared to previous years. U.S. Consumer Platinum Card® Members can now receive a statement credit which covers the full cost of a monthly Walmart+ membership ($12.95/month plus applicable taxes) when they use their card. Walmart+ members receive unlimited free shipping with no order minimum on items shipped by Walmart, free delivery from store (where available), as well as mobile and contactless check-out to make shopping faster.
Flexibility of At-Home Fitness
In July, American Express introduced an annual $300 Equinox credit ($25/month) on eligible Equinox Fitness Club memberships or a digital membership to Equinox+.
According to the Amex Trendex*, almost half of adults (43%) plan on combining in-person exercise with at-home workouts moving forward. With the at-home fitness trend continuing, American Express is expanding its partnership with Equinox by offering Platinum Card® Members a statement credit on purchases of SoulCycle at-home bikes¹, giving them another way to work out at home.
